He is a nearly 4-year-old, neutered Border Collie x Huntaway who is loyal and affectionate and thrives on attention. He loves being part of the family.
Why is Harvey rehoming?
We’re soon retiring to the provinces and unfortunately our new Council only allows us to keep 2 dogs. Much as we’d love to keep Harvey, we want to ensure he has the best future possible and that means finding him a new home with someone special who will give him the love and care he deserves.
What’s Harvey like?
• While he has a good bark, his guarding skills are somewhat questionable (let’s just say he’s a big softie at heart but he'll certainly alert you to visitors).
• Harvey can be a bit anxious, especially around men & would need a gentle and patient approach to help him feel secure & confident. But once he bonds with you, he’s a loyal companion who’ll follow you to the ends of the earth.
• He missed out on the genes you’d expect from his breed mix. But what he lacks in farm dog experience, he more than makes up for by being an amazing family pet. He soaks up affection and dishes out heaps of companionship. Harvey will be your shadow when you’re around.
• Playful: He loves a good chase with his doggie friends and is gentle with smaller dogs and puppies.
• Neutered and Ready for Adoption: Harvey is already neutered and microchipped.
• Gentle with Smaller Dogs: While he hasn’t had much exposure to large, unfamiliar dogs, he’s very gentle with smaller ones and puppies.
Harvey’s Special Bonus:
Harvey comes with his very own insulated kennel (142D x 145W x 118H), perfect for keeping him cozy. You’ll need a trailer or large vehicle to transport it.
